In the 1L hydrogenation kettle, add 100 g of 4-methyl cyclohexanecarbonitrile and 3 g of Raney-Ni, 400 mL of ethanol, and continuously charged with H2, so that the pressure of the system during the reaction was always maintained at 6 MPa. After reaction at a reaction temperature of 93 ° C for 0.5 h, then the temperature was lowered. When the temperature in the reaction vessel was lowered to room temperature, the gas was vented, and 4- methyl cyclohexanemethylamine (purity: 99% or more) was obtained by filtration and recrystallization in a yield of 92 wt%.
