(A) Synthesis of Compound A First, 240 ml of ethanol was added to 75 g of m-nitrophenylhydrazine sulfate and 55 ml of triethyl amine was then added thereto while being stirred. The resulting solution was refluxed under heat and 50 ml of an ethanol solution containing 76 g of ethoxymethylene malononitrile was then dropped into the solution. After completing the dropping, the reaction solution was refluxed under heat for 3 hours while being stirred. Subsequently, the reaction solution was concentrated under reduced pressure until it reached a total amount of about 150 ml. The concentrated reaction solution was cooled with water and the obtained crystals were then filtrated and dried. Consequently, 63.6 g of Compound A was obtained (75% in yield
