24.C.1 Step 1: Synthesis of tert-butyl 4-benzyl-3-(hydroxymethyl)piperazine -1 -carboxylate
A mixture of tert-butyl 3-(hydroxymethyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (5 g, 23.1 mmol),(bromomethyl)benzene (4.73 g, 27.7 mmol) and triethylamine (4.67 g, 46.2 mmol) in acetonitrile (40 mL) was stirred at 80 °C overnight. The reaction solution was cooled, concentrated andpurified by silica gel chromatograph (EA:PE = 1:5) to give the title product (6.0 g, yield: 85%) as colorless oil. MS (ES+) C17H26N203 requires: 306, found: 307 [M+H].
