Reaction Conditions:

with sodium carbonate;hydrazine at 0 - 80; for 0.25 h;

Steps:

5.2. General procedure for synthesis of 2-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-1-aryl ethanones

General procedure: In dry mortar, acetylacetone (0.01 mol) was charged and cooled to 0 °C, and to it was added hydrazine hydrate (0.011 mol) dropwise. The resultant mixture was further ground with sodium carbonate (0.005 mol) and differently substituted acyl bromides(0.009 mol) at 80 °C for an appropriate period of time as shown in Table 1. The progress of reaction was monitored by thin layer chromatography using a mixture of petroleum ether and ethyl acetate as eluent in the ratio 5.7:1. After completion of reaction, the reaction mixture was washed well with ice cold water to remove the sodium carbonate, dried, and melting point of the product was noted.
