Yield:-

Reaction Conditions:

with sulfuric acid at 80;

Steps:

2.1.8. Synthesis of intermediates 13

A reaction mixture of 3-chloro-4-nitrobenzoic acid (1.0 equiv) and H2SO4 in absolute ethanol was stirred at 80°C for 3-5 h. The mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate and the organic layer washed with brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under vacuum. The solid part was purified by chromatography over silica gel using ethyl acetate/petroleum ether to generate intermediate 13.
