2.3. General procedure for the synthesis of diaryl trithiocarbonates
General procedure: To the stirring mixture of Na2S (1.1 mmol) in DMF (2 mL),CS2(5 mmol) was added at room temperature and mixture was stirred for 15 min. Then, CuFe2O4(12 mg, 5 mol%) and aryl iodides(2 mmol) were added to the reaction mixture and stirred at 100°C for appropriate reaction time. After completion of reaction, the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and extracted with EtOAc. Evaporation of the solvent yielded the crude diaryl trithiocarbonate which was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel (EtOAc/n-hexane).
