K14. Butyrimidic acid ethyl ester hydrochloride 21.87 ml (250 mmol) butyronitrile are dissolved in 40 ml ethanole. The reaction is cooled to 0°C and HCl gas is passed through the solution. The temperature of the reaction is kept under 20 ° C. The reaction is stirred afterwards 2 days at ambient temperature. The solvent is evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue is suspended in ether and the precipitate is filtered and dried. By this method 33.92 g ( 89%) of the title compound are obtained.
