PYRIDINE-3,5-DICARBOXYLIC ACID MONOETHYL ESTER synthesis

3synthesis methods
-

Yield:84254-37-5 71%

Reaction Conditions:

with potassium hydroxide in ethanol at 20; for 2 h;

Steps:

The white solid (8 g, 0.035 mol) was slowly added to ethanol solution that containing potassium hydroxide (1 g, 0.018 mol). After stirring at room temperature for 2 hours, a large number of white solids were precipitated, which would be filtered out and then dissolved in distilled water. After filtering out insoluble substance, HCl solution was slowly dripped into the aqueous solution to adjust its pH value to 3. During the adjustment process, white solid would appear continuously. After filtering, pyridine 3,5-dicarboxylic acid with unilateral protection could be obtained in 71% yield.
