Glyceryl monostearate is prepared by esterification of C16-C18 long-chain fatty acids with glycerol. This product is a milky white waxy solid, soluble in ethanol and ether. It is a non-ionic surfactant. It has hydrophilic and lipophilic genes and various functions such as wetting, emulsifying, and foaming.

Glyceryl monostearate is used in the following industries: Monoglycerides are mainly used as food additives in the food industry; In cosmetics, it is indispensable for producing cream products.
