The preparation of the target compound 2,3-diamino-5-bromopyridine from 2-amino-3-nitro-5-bromopyridine is a typical reduction reaction, involving the reduction of the nitro group to obtain the target product. However, due to the low efficiency of the reduction reaction, the large amount of reduction waste, and the complex post-processing, it is not an ideal preparation route. Nevertheless, the readily available starting materials and the one-step reaction preparation of the target compound have their advantages. This paper optimizes the reaction conditions by investigating the reduction process, employing Raney Ni catalytic hydrogenation during the reduction process, resulting in high product purity.
