Dark green powder or dark green liquid. Odorless or slightly ammonia odor. soluble in water. Slightly soluble in alcohol and chloroform, insoluble in oil. The aqueous solution is transparent without precipitation. Slightly acidic (pH below 6.5), there is precipitation in the presence of calcium ions. Lightfastness is stronger than chlorophyll.
