Using p-chlorobenzoic acid as a starting material, in the presence of a sulfonating agent and a catalyst, it reacts with chlorosulfonic acid to obtain 4-chloro-3-sulfonylchlorobenzoic acid, which then reacts with ammonia to obtain 4-chloro-3-sulfonamidobenzoic acid.
