2,2,2-Trifluoroethylamine can be prepared by the following steps: In a glove box, ruthenium catalyst (5 mol%, 15.2 mg, 0.025 mmol), trifluoromethylformamide (0.50 mmol, 1 equiv), and pinacolborane (2.0 mmol, 4 equiv) are added to a 25 mL Schlenk flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar. The resulting reaction mixture is stirred in an oil bath at 80 °C for 24 h. The reaction progress is monitored by TLC. After the reaction is completed, the reactants are separated by column chromatography to obtain the final product. Figure 2. Synthetic route of 2,2,2-trifluoroethylamine. |
