In a threaded test tube, 1.00 g of fluorapatite (FAp) and 0.079 g (0.021 mmol) of catalyst (CetylPy)3 [PW12O40] were weighed, and then 0.134 g (1.02 mmol) of dicyclopentadiene was added to the mixture, followed by 0.33 mL (3.0 mmol) of a 31% aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide. After thorough stirring, the mixture was allowed to stand at 25 °C. After 96 hours at 25 °C, extraction was performed with the solvent. The solvent was evaporated to give 0.166 g (99% yield, 99% selectivity) of the corresponding Dicyclopentadiene diepoxide.
