Subsequently, potassium hydroxide (510 mg, 9.42 mmol) was ground into a fine powder and added to the reaction system. The reaction mixture was refluxed at 100 °C for 12 hours. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was diluted with deionized water (50 mL) and extracted with dichloromethane.
