Function:
Semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotics for P. aeruginosa, E. coli, K. pneumoniae, Proteus, Enterobacter, Citrobacter, Serratia, Acinetobacter and penicillin-sensitive Grams Positive cocci have antibacterial effects, and large doses have bactericidal effect.
The antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli, Enterobacteriaceae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Citrobacter spp., Serratia spp. and Acinetobacter spp. were stronger than that of carbenicillin and ampicillin.
The antibacterial activities of the positive strains of Proteus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were stronger than that of carbenicillin and sulfocloxacillin.
The antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus is similar to that of carbenicillin, while the antibacterial activity against Streptococcus faecalis is superior to that of carbenicillin and sulfiracilin. Most anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides fragilis have a good antibacterial effect.
