Amoxicillin mainly inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell wall, causing bacterial cell wall defects, and continuous water penetration leads to bacterial swelling and death, which has strong antibacterial and bactericidal effects. Amoxicillin, as a penicillin antibiotic, interferes with the synthesis of mucopeptin in the cell wall of sensitive bacteria, inhibits metabolic enzymes of bacteria, triggers the activity of autolysase of bacteria itself, and causes swelling, deformation, rupture, dissolution and death of bacteria.

Application

Amoxicillin can be used as a broad spectrum semi-synthetic penicillin. Clinically used for the treatment of tonsillitis, laryngitis, pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, urinary system infection, skin soft tissue infection, suppurative pleurisy, liver and bile system infection, septicemia, typhoid, dysentery and so on. The product is an antimicrobial spectrum drug, its action and application are similar to clopicillin, the advantages of low serum protein binding rate, and blood concentration than ampicillin more than twice higher. Ampicillin is a safe and effective drug with good curative effect.

Efficacy and effect

Amoxicillin is a more common anti-inflammatory drug, and the anti-inflammatory effect is better, has been one of the necessary drugs for many patients at home. This product is well absorbed orally. Taking the same amount of drugs, the serum concentration of this product is about twice higher than that of ampicillin. It is often used for respiratory tract, urinary tract and biliary tract infections and typhoid caused by sensitive bacteria. The role of amoxicillin is mainly in the anti-infection treatment of various systems, as follows: 

1. Upper respiratory tract infection: otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, etc. Lower respiratory tract infection: acute bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.

2. Various skin and soft tissue infections.

3. Urogenital tract infection: acute bacterial nephritis, acute cystitis, acute urethritis, acute simple gonorrhea, etc.

4. Amoxicillin can also be combined with metronidazole and omeprazole to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in stomach and duodenum and reduce the recurrence rate of gastrointestinal ulcer.

Drug interaction

1. The renal tubule secretion of this product is competitively reduced by prosulfa, and the simultaneous application of the two can cause the increase of amoxicillin concentration in blood and the prolongation of half-failure.

2. Increased risk of bleeding when combined with warfarin.

Taboo

1. Patients with penicillin allergy and positive penicillin skin test should be prohibited.

2. Infectious mononucleosis, cytomegalovirus infection, lymphocytic leukemia, lymphoma and other patients using this product is prone to rash, so it should not be used.
