A mixture of 1-(2,2,2-trif[uoroethy[)piperidin-4-one (2.40 g, 13.2 mmo[), NaBH4(1.50 g, 39.7 mmo[) in MeOH was stirred at rt for 16 hours. A saturated aqueousNaHCO3-so[ution was added and the aqueous [ayer extracted with DCM (3 x). Thecombined organic [ayers were reduced to dryness under reduced pressure to give2.14 g (88% yie[d) which was used without further purification.
