ChemicalBook CAS DataBase List 1-Aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid

1-Aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid synthesis

8synthesis methods
1-Aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid is a cyclic amino acid, also known as ACC, a non-protein amino acid widely found in pears, apples and other fruits. The famous German organic chemist Schoenkopf used ethyl cyanoacetate and 1,2-dibromoethane to form a three-membered ring with NaH in a nitrogen environment, and then reacted with hydrochloric acid to prepare 1-aminocyclopropanecarboxylate hydrochloride .

Reaction Conditions:

with triethylamine in 2-methyl-propan-1-ol;water; pH=6pH-value;Solvent;

Steps:

1 Example 1
To 1-aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid hydrochloride (purity 98.7%, 2 g) were added water (2.7 g) and 2-methylpropan-1-ol (4.6 g).
Triethylamine (1.5 g) was added thereto to adjust the pH to 6.0, the obtained slurry was cooled to 20° C., and the precipitated crystals were collected by filtration.
The obtained crystals were washed with 2-methylpropan-1-ol (10.6 g), and dried under reduced pressure at 85° C. for 3 hr to give 1-aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid non-hydrate (1.2 g, content: 99.5% (yield 84.1%), water content: 0.26%).
