Yield:-

Reaction Conditions:

with magnesium in tetrahydrofuran

Steps:

R.5 Synthesis of diallylmethylchlorosilane
REFERENCE EXAMPLE 5 Synthesis of diallylmethylchlorosilane Allylmagnesium chloride was synthesised by the gradual dropwise addition of 50 parts of allyl chloride to a mixture of 15 parts of magnesium turnings and 100 parts of tetrahydrofuran. This was gradually added dropwise over a period of 2 hours to 18 parts of methyldichlorosilane dissolved in 100 parts of tetrahydrofuran, and the reaction was then heated for an additional 1 hour under reflux.
