Yield:-

Reaction Conditions:

with oxygen in aq. phosphate buffer at 20;

Steps:

3.3.1. Enzyme reactions

Glucose oxidase (GOX) was added to 200 mL stirred, PBS buffered glucose solution (1 mM) at room temperature, resulting in a decrease in O2 concentration approximately correlating with the stoichiometrically expected increase in H2O2 concentration (Fig. 5). The observed decreasein O2 concentration (taking a ~ 6 min delay due to loading times in account) was ~ 63 μM O2 while the H2O2 concentration increased by~ 57 μM H2O2. When adding catalase, the H2O2 concentration decreased again, while the decrease in O2 concentration was slowed down due to the O2 produced by the reaction of catalase and H2O2. When reaching anoxia, the H2O2 production stopped and a decrease towards 0 μM could be observed due to continuous catalase activity.
