DL-Limonene synthesis

12synthesis methods
d-Limonene may be obtained by steam distillation of citrus peels and pulp resulting from the production of juice and cold pressed oils, or from deterpenation of citrus oils; it is sometimes redistilled.

Yield:138-86-3 90%

Reaction Conditions:

with Pd1-Al10-MCM-41 bifunctional catalyst in tetrahydrofuran;lithium hydroxide monohydrate at 110;

Steps:

1.1 Example 1

1. The bio-based isoprene was added to a glass bottle containing 0.2 mL tetrahydrofuran, 0.4wt% Pd1-Al10-MCM-41 bifunctional catalyst was slowly added, and then the solution was added to 0.8 mL of ultrapure water, and the reaction was vigorously stirred at 110 °C, and the chloroform was diluted after sampling, and the data were collected by gas chromatography continuous sample. Perform parallel experiments 3 times to calculate the isoprene conversion.The gas-mass spectrometry results are shown in Figure 1, and the results show that the main product of the isoprene polymerization reaction is limonene and its isomers. The product yield is greater than 90%, and the isoprene conversion rate is greater than 90%.
