2. Preparation of Aryl Triflates

General procedure: To a solution of phenol (1.0 equiv) and pyridine (2.0 equiv) in DCM was added dropwise trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride (1.2 equiv) at 0 °C. Then the mixture was warmed to room temperature and stirred for 5 hours. The reaction was quenched with HCl (1M). The mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with sat. NaHCO₃, water, brine successively and concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude residue was purified with a flash column chromatography.
