Testosterone is synthesized by testosterone synthetic enzymes, which are stimulated by luteinizing hormone (LH). Testosterone can also be converted to estradiol via the aromatase.

Steps:

General procedure for the deprotection of silyl ethers 1c-e, 6c-e, 7c-e, and 8c-e

General procedure: ATRT(25 mg) was added to a solution of silyl ether 1d (270 mg, 1.0 mmol) in dry CH3OH (10 mL). The mixturewas stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The mixture was filtered and theprecipitate was washed with CH3OH. The filtrate was evaporated underreduced pressure. The residue was purified by column chromatography withhexane-acetone (5 : 1) on silica gel to give 1a (186 mg, 100%).
