(1)4-benzylsulhydryl-3-nitro-1,8-naphthalic anhydride 4-bromo-3-nitro-1,8-naphthalic anhydride (0.0072mol) (4) was dissolved in DMF (45ml) in 100 ml of three-neck flask. After addition of K2CO3 (0.0036mol) and benzyl sulfhydrate (0.0072mol), the solution was stirred at 80°C for 8h until there was no raw material. The reaction mixture was poured into ice-water, then salted out under stirring. A yellow solid precipitated after filtration and washing by water and dried to give khaki solid (2.47g, 83%): mp 188-193°C (uncorrected).
