3-Hydroxy-N-naphthalen-1-ylnaphthalene-2-carboxamide is mainly used as a base agent for dyeing cotton fibers and printing cotton fabrics. It is also used for dyeing vinylon, viscose fiber, silk, and nylon. When combined with red base B to dye a purplish-brown color, it exhibits good lightfastness. N-naphth-1-yl-3-hydroxynaphth-2-carboxamide is primarily used as a base agent for dyeing and printing cotton fibers, as an intermediate for organic pigments, and in the manufacture of fast-setting pigments. It can be used for dyeing cotton yarn, cotton fabrics, cotton knitwear, corduroy, polyvinyl alcohol, viscose, silk, nylon, and other fibers, but is generally not used for printing.
