At room temperature, propargyl bromide (1.0 equiv) was added to a solution of amine (2.0 equiv) in dichloromethane (0.5 M). The resulting reaction mixture was stirred overnight, then extracted three times with dichloromethane. All organic layers were combined and washed with water and brine. The organic layers were dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered to remove the drying agent, and the filtrate was concentrated to dryness. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (eluting with n-hexane/AcOEt) to obtain propargylamine. |
