GENERAL METHOD: Carboxylic acid (0.3 mmol), catalyst (5 mol%), Xantphos (10 mol%), K2S2O8 (2 equiv.) and N,N-dimethylformamide (2 mL) were added to a 20 mL reaction tube. After sealing the reaction tube, the mixture was stirred at 160 °C for 12 h or until the reaction was complete. After completion of the reaction, the mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to remove the solvent.
