Yield:118-75-2 97.9%

Reaction Conditions:

Stage #1: 1,2,4,5-tetrachloro-3,6-dimethoxybenzenewith potassium chloride;aluminium acetylacetonate at 46; for 2.16667 h;
Stage #2: with sodium nitrate;boric acid tributyl ester at 58; for 2 h;Temperature;Concentration;

Steps:

3.A; 3.B Example 3

A: 2 mol of 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4-dimethoxybenzene, 1.9 L of a 16% potassium chloride solution was added to the reaction vessel, and thetemperature of the solution was controlled to 46 °C. 4 mol of aluminum acetylacetonate powder was added 4 times, the stirring speed was controlled at 260 rpm, and the reaction was carried out for 130 min; B: Add 6 mol of a 37% by mass solution of tributyl borate, raise the temperature to 58 °C, then add 2.2 Lof a 25% sodium nitrate solution, react for 2 h, stratify the solution, and lower the temperature to 22 °C. The mass fraction was washed 4 times with 57% hexyl ether solution, 6 times with a mass fraction of 66% 3-methylpyridine solution, and recrystallized in a 87% chloroacetyl chloride solution, dehydrating agent anhydrous calcium chloride. Dehydration gave a yield of 97.71 g of tetrachlorobenzoquinone of 97.9%.
