Steps:
General Procedure: To a solution of Cp2ZrHCl (see table1) in dry THF (5 mL) under nitrogen, lactam (1 mmol) dissolved in THF was added and the mixture was stirred at room temperature. The reaction mixture was loaded directly into a short plug of silica gel (? 1g), eluted with ethyl acetate and the eluted solvent was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by MPLC.
