General procedure: In the Example 1 4.6 parts with the purity of 99% ethanol was used instead of 18.63 parts with the purity of 99% for the lauryl alcohol , after adding carbon bisulfide 10-20 °C stirring reaction under 2 hours. Other conditions were same as in Example 1, to obtain sodium ethyl xanthate of the purity and yield in table 1.; The purity of 17.78 parts of tetrahydrofuran was added to 99% into the reactor, opening stirring, added 18.63 parts the purity is 99% of the lauryl alcohol, stirring 10 minutes, added in portionwise to the purity of 96% granular sodium hydroxide, 4.2 in the reactor share in, in 5-20 °C the full stirring 20 minutes. Then slowly added 7.84 parts carbon disulfide, after adding 10-20 °C stirring reaction under 3 hours. The end of reaction, the reaction mixture is dry distillation to remove the solvent, to obtain the purity of 99.1% xanthan sodium dodecyl of product, odor crinkle, non-irritant, lauryl alcohol-based to yield of 97.5%.
