Terbinafine Hcl Chemical Properties,Uses,Production

Description

Terbinafine Hcl is a prescription-only medication that is used to treat fungal infections on the skin and nails that are caused by trichophyton. Patients diagnosed with athlete’s foot, jock itch and ringworm use this medication to relieve their symptoms including irritation and burning. Terbinafine Hcl works by reducing the growth of fungi on the skin and nails.

Biological Activity

Terbinafine Hcl is a hydrochloride obtained by reaction of terbinafine with one molar equivalent of hydrogen chloride. It has a role as an EC 1.14.13.132 (squalene monooxygenase) inhibitor and a P450 inhibitor. It is a hydrochloride and an allylamine antifungal drug. It contains a terbinafine(1+).
