Description
SYN-AKE (Dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate) is a small synthetic peptide that helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and laughter lines – fast. As our skin gets older so the number of expression and laughter lines increases, along with crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles. SYN-AKE enables the face to relax, reducing wrinkles but without losing the ability to help people express themselves. It’s fast acting, long lasting and fully reversible. Syn-ake is a patented anti-aging ingredient developed by the Swedish company, Pentapharm Ltd, designed to mimic the action of snake venom. As a skincare ingredient, Syn-ake can be added to most formulation types, such as serums, moisturizers, or most water-based products. It is generally used as the main anti-aging ingredients but also can be formulated alongside other key ingredients to create a more diverse anti-aging product.

Mechanism of action
Dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate's effect focuses on an immediate and lasting relaxation of mimicry wrinkles by blocking the neuronal transmission on the Nicotinic Acetyhlcholin receptor. The peptide is an antagonist of the muscular nicotinic acetylcholine membrane's receptor. As the muscular nicotinic ACh receptors are blocked, the ion channel remains closed. There is no uptake of Na+ and the muscle cells stay relaxed. The transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles is inhibited and facial muscles are relaxed.

Dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate belongs to the "Botox in a jar" type of peptides (similar to Argireline or Leuphasyl) targeting wrinkles caused by facial movements, like laughter lines or crow’s feet.
