Into the reactor, 7-methyltetrahydroquinoline (0.2mmol),N-hydroxyphthalimide (20mol%, 0.04mmol),copper oxide (5mol%, 0.01mmol), 4-dimethylaminopyridine (1 equivalent, 0.2mmol) and acetonitrile (2mL),Then the reaction mixture was stirred for 12 hours at 120°C under an oxygen atmosphere,The completion of the reaction was monitored by TLC, and then the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure,The obtained residue was separated by column chromatography (ethyl acetate/petroleum ether as elution solvent, volume ratio 1:15)Purified to obtain the target product 7-methylquinoline (yield 92%).
