In a 15 mm diameter PTFE flat-bottomed tube, a preheated (55°C) solution of THF (6 mL) and benzene trifluoride (10 μL) was added to potassium trifluoroborate (5.28 x 10⁻⁵ mol) and glass powder (Grade 3, 20 mg). An aqueous solution of Cs₂CO₃ (1.58 x 10⁻⁴ mol) (0.6 mL) was added. The sample (0.3 mL) was placed in a pre-cooled (0°C) PTFE-lined NMR tube. Depending on the substrate, the reaction was stirred at 500 rpm at 55°C for 6–168 hours. The sample was periodically added to a pre-cooled (0°C) PTFE-lined NMR tube to obtain the product, isopropylboronic acid.
