Sodium diethyldithiocarbamate synthesis

3synthesis methods
Sodium diethyldithiocarbamate is obtained by treating carbon disulfide with diethylamine in the presence of sodium hydroxide:CS2+ HN(C2H5)2+ NaOH → NaS2CN(C2H5)2+ H2O.

Yield:148-18-5 73%

Reaction Conditions:

with sodium hydroxide in ethanol at 20 - 40;

Steps:

Synthesis of compound 4a

General procedure: Anhydrous ethanol (20 mL) was added to a one-neck round bottom flask, followedby piperidine solution (500 μL, 5.05 mmol), magnetic stirring at 40 °C, carbon disulfide(305 μL, 5.05 mmol) was slowly added dropwise to the system. Then, NaOH (242 mg,6.06 mmol) was added and the mixture was stirred at room temperature. After thesystem reacted for 2-3 hours, the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. Theresidue was recrystallized from ethanol/diethyl ether and suction filtered to obtain a white solid with a yield of 60%, 559 mg.
