Reaction Conditions:

Stage #2: in 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexadiene at 83 - 90;Solvent;

36.6 g (0.50 mol) of t-butylamine was added dropwise to the above first reaction solution at 0 ° C.Heating and refluxing for more than 4 hours,A second reaction liquid was obtained.Sampling and testing, the mass content of urea in the second reaction solution is ≤1%.
Distilling the second reaction liquid to collect a fraction of 83 ° C to 90 ° C,40.4 g of t-butyl isocyanate were obtained.
The purity of the tert-butyl isocyanate was 98.3% and the yield was 80%.
A mixture of 582 g of rectified residual material xylene and p-toluenesulfonamide was recycled.
